Has anyone here actually done “focused linear compression therapy” for ED? I keep seeing clinics hype it like it’s not the same as shockwave, and I’m trying to figure out what’s real vs marketing. I’m pretty new to this and don’t want to waste money or make things worse. A few things I’m curious about:
- Is FLCT genuinely different from low‑intensity shockwave (focused or radial), or just a different handpiece/marketing name? If you’ve had both, did it feel or perform any different?
- Any peer‑reviewed studies specifically on the “linear compression” devices, not just generic Li‑ESWT? Bonus if anyone has a link to head‑to‑head data against standard focused shockwave.
- Who actually benefits? Mild/moderate vasculogenic ED only, or have you seen results with diabetes, venous leak, post‑prostate surgery, Peyronie’s, or porn‑related ED?
- What protocol did your clinic use (energy settings, pulses per session, total sessions, spacing)? Did they recommend “maintenance” sessions later, and did those matter?
- Side effects you noticed? Bruising, pain, numbness, temporary worsening? Anyone on blood thinners get it safely?
- Did your clinic combine it with other stuff (daily tadalafil, L‑citrulline, testosterone optimization, pelvic floor PT, VED, PRP)? Which combos felt helpful vs upsell?
- How did you measure results beyond “it feels better”? Erection Hardness Score, IIEF‑EF, home NPT ring, or pre/post penile Doppler with peak systolic/end‑diastolic flow?
- Cost and clinic vetting: what did you pay, and what questions were worth asking (device brand/model, energy flux density, pulses, operator training, ultrasound capability)? Any red flags you wish you’d spotted sooner (e.g., they’re actually using radial “acoustic wave,” big bundles, no objective testing)?
- Durability: how long did improvements last, and what happened when you stopped?
- At‑home devices: anyone try a “linear” unit at home and get real, safe results, or is that a bad idea?
If you’ve got outcomes plus your context (age range, ED type, other treatments you were on at the time), that would really help. I’m hoping to avoid jumping straight to injections or surgery if there’s a legit path here.
